Outfit Post

It's been a while. I'm only just realising how much I've missed this.
However, I'm finding it a lot easier to blog on my sister's computer. It has a built-in webcam, so I can just take a picture dead quick! (There are over 100 in her trash...)

As per usual, I went to town on saturday to visit my friends. I don't know what's been going on with the weather lately, but it was really hot! I'm not complaining though!! In keeping with this hot weather, I dressed light, naturally.

Cardigan, worn as a top - H&M
Skirt - Primark, but bought from a charity shop for a ridiculously low cost!
Floral Bag - Primark

I really liked this as an outfit because it was simple and chic. Because I'm quite thin and mostly 'Straight Up and Down' the elasticated belt gives me some shape which makes a pleasant change!

Also, I've been experimenting with nail varnish lately. I've been drawn to a lot of blues and turquoises, but I painted them with this bright red the other day.

It was for a friend's party (outfit post of that tomorrow) and I walked past it on my way downstairs and just knew I had to use it. It's called 'Double Decker Red' and it's from Rimmel's I ♥ Lasting Finish collection. It's a brilliant colour and it's only chipped a bit since Saturday. I'm impressed!

Until tomorrow,

Sunday, June 6

I'm making no apologies because

TUMBLR IS SO ADDICTIVE.

If you have one, my account is here and I'd love it if you followed, I'll most likely follow back :D

Anyway, onto a more interesting, blogworthy topic. Yesterday, or at some point, my sister bought Harper's Bazaar and it came with this free top.

It was too small for her so she gave it to me. I really like the print on it, but I don't generally like high necked Tees, so I may edit it!

But then she raised a good point. The UK average size for a woman is a 16, but this top only just fits me and I'm only a 10 because of my chest size. So if this top is designed for size 8-10 girls... How many of these are going to end up in landfills?

I know I'm not exactly in a position to complain about 'size-ism' but I do think it's a bit off for such a huge magazine to be so completely off the target.

Any thoughts? x

It's Nice To Have An Older Sister

Because she lends me her stuff and buys me pretty things, I'm lucky in that respect :) She went to Prague for her birthday last week and apart from bringing me back some totally random Prague foodstuffs, she also bought me this necklace -

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

She got it hand made by some random man on the street, I love it :)
So now, I have a necklace with my name and one with my nickname (the cupcake necklace). I just need one that says angel because that's what the guy calls me; the collection would be complete then!

It's actually sunny outside again, I'm shocked! However, the room I'm in is actually really cold, and this computer isn't a portable one, so for now it's goodbye :) I'm actually shivering!!

Mugs for Tea (L)

As a self-professed Tea addict I'm often given pretty mugs by my friends or I buy them myself! I'd been thinking about doing this for a while and seeing as it was actually sunny yesterday I went and took pictures in my garden.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Oh my gosh, look... No rain!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
My garden. It's a bit shit, but it's getting there... I hate my toes :/
Jeggings - Primark
Shoes - Barratts (about 4 years ago, they're my sister's!)
Nail Varnish - Rimmel London, Perfect Plum
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
My three favourite mugs. Cupcake mug - Tesco, £2!! 'A' mug - Anthropologie, £6. Biscuit mug - Paperchase, I don't know the price because it was a present, but you can ask Liv, because she's the babe that bought it for me!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Shoes and mugs... Why wouldn't they be in grass?
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I love flowers, this is one of the only ones in my garden around at the moment. Flowers + Cupcake + Cupcake mug = Happy Abi :)

I'm craving a cup now, I only had one about 5 minutes ago!!

Mermaid Nails

First of all, I was hit by the problems a few users had the other day posting, so I'm sorry it's been quiet but it's actually not my fault for once!!

My nails look like this at the moment :)
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Glittery! At first, I'd had two layers of the turquoisey colour on it's own (Green with Envy by Rimmel 60 Seconds) which on it's own made me feel like a mermaid. Then I'd been looking through a bag of small jokey christmas presents I'd been given by my mum and pulled out (drumroll please) the glitter/sequin cover! It's from New York Colour and it's got silver glitter and pink and blue tiny sequins; I love it!

Nice and fresh for spring, but also jazzy for in the night-time :)

There may be a second post today, depends on whether my camera decides to upload all the pictures I took yesterday or not!

Blog Awards

They make me smile :)

The other day, I received one from Chloe at Chloe In Reality -

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

For which I now have to write Sevens facts about myself from... Here goes!

1. I crack my knuckles... Like all the time :) There's just something therapeutic about it!!
2. I drink a lot of tea. I mean a lot - at least 4 or 5 big mugs each day... or else I'd die; and we don't want that now do we?
3. I like having my nails painted bright colours. It sounds obvious, but when I'm feeling down and you look at your hands and just see this flash of colour, well, it cheers me up immediately.
4. I over-analyse films. But in a good way, so that you can understand the characters properly - then the whole film seems better!
5. I've only ever cried at one film; The Notebook. I'm not really a crier, but this film was so beautiful. Plus I want her swimsuit :)
6. I dye my hair quite a bit, at the moment, it's kind of Purpley-Red
7. I really like blogging, even if no-one reads it or people don't like it it makes me happy. I love everything about it really. I love reading other people's blogs and seeing their opinions - horizon brightening much?

And now I've got to tag 7 people who I think also have beautiful blogs; I've done them alphabetically :)

Caroline @ COSMICaroline
D @ Heart Shaped Bruise
Kavita @ I Heart Vintage
Hannah @ London Rose
Alice @ Paper Heart
Sadie @ Sadie's Wardrobe
Charlie @ Vampires And Cardigans

Check out their blogs; they're all wonderful and they all have lots of different opinions but most of all, they're all really cool girls :)

Anthropologie, Regent Street

It's taken me about a month to post this, I get distracted easily. However, this post is all about Anthropologie, Regent street, London. My trip was in the half-term and I just wish I had unlimited cash because I'd buy everything in this shop!

I'd like to start off with a very simple fact and it is thus; I love everything about this shop. The amount of detail put into it is incredible. For instance, this floor list shows a rough idea of what's on each floor, but it's been hand made using multiple layers and prints and it's just damn cool.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Image and video hosting by TinyPic - They have a boat to display cushions... does it get much cooler?!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
- The answer is yes; who doesn't want a Paper Mache Bear on their dinner table?
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
- I just thought this was cute, I like how they've gone to the effort of having the sewn line on it.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
- They have a wall of plants. Yes, they're real! I've been told that they get watered by rainwater from the roof or something like that...
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
- Sorry, this photo is awful quality, but it's supposed to show these amazing lampshades that were completely recycled. The were made from all sorts like beads and bottle caps and things.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
- Any shop with dragon content makes me smile, especially when they're cute framed drawings like these!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
- I thought that the colourful wall looked really good because it was right next to an uber colourful bed! Plus, there were lots of drawing of exotic birds on the walls which gave it this awesome 'Urban Jungle' vibe.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
- Recycling to the max! The bottles were so mesmerising! When I was paying for my mug (yes, I bought my 'A' mug!) I looked up and realised some of them even had paint drips on them to look like spilt wine.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
- Last, but not least, on a chair that wasn't even for sale, they had bears... that I don't believe were for sale :') And that's why I loved this shops, all these little quirks that make it like a wonderland of discovery. It's how I wanted my parents shop to be, but there was never enough space.

All in all, I adore this shop, I'm so glad I went! I'd been following Anthropologie for ages and I was so happy when I found out they'd opened here... it just took me a while to get down to London to visit it!! So, if you're ever in London, or relatively near, or you just fancy a day out, drop in an spend an hour or so there :') I bet it'd be possible, it's so gorgeous. My mum gave up after about 2 minutes and sat on a sofa because she knew I'd be looking around for ages!

Mmmmm, friday! Means I get to see a certain someone tomorrow; things are looking up :)

Vampires and Cardigans

The lovely Charlie of Vampires and Cardigans is having a giveaway to celebrate reaching 50 followers! I'm jealous =] Anyways, Charlie has a really cool blog and and excellent wardrobe, so even if you're not interested in the giveaway (why wouldn't you be?!) you should give her blog a peek!
"The winner will recieve these three items: A River Island purse, a vintage floral scarf and a cute rose-clip elasticated belt. If there are a lot of entries I will also have one - or possibly two - runner up prizes, yet to be decided. "
The link to her blog is here, but if you want to jump straight into the giveaway, click here.

Another post coming straight up - remember I went to London a few weeks ago? I never told you all about my visit to Anthropologie and I just found the pictures on my computer, so I hope you enjoy looking at all the beautiful things in the shop like I did!

Absolutely Alice

I went mini-shopping with my friend today, she was looking for jeans, I was almost her personal shopper, it was beautiful :')
Various shops and no luck later, we ended up in New Look where I found this denim dress. It's £25 which is a lot on my limited budget, but I might be able to scrape it. But I'm not entirely sure about it, what do you think?

I've never really been one for denim, other than on my legs, but I actually really liked this dress. I know there's a bit of a denim trend going on at the moment, but I've chosen to ignore it!

However, there was a woman at my bus stop yesterday and I thought she looked really cool. She had on a woolly grey granny cardi, a blue denim shirt and a black pencil skirt. I would've felt a bit awkward taking a photo to be honest so you'll just have to imagine it! She looked on-trend whilst still keeping an air of originality and cool. Plus, she had bright orange dyed hair! Tres cool. On that note, I need to re-dye my hair; the purple faded fast :/ sad times.

Back to the denim dress! If I bought it, I'd have to wear it with this stunning nail varnish from OPI
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It's called 'Absolutely Alice' - a nod to Alice in Wonderland, which I still haven't seen! S0meone take me? My sister just bought it and it looks absolutely incredible. I can't wait for an excuse to steal it!!

I have a lovely post lined up for tomorrow, so catch you then, for now I have about 60 A3 pages of coursework to do for DT tomorrow... Wish me luck? I'll need it...

Things I Want Need

This stunning skirt from Urban Outfitters -
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I believe it's around £35, and on my budget? Never going to happen... sad times :/

It's perfect for this season's nude/neutrals feel. Plus I love lace!

I leave lusting after this beauty... I want it :(

Oh For A Lazy Saturday...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Yes, my room IS horrendously messy here!!

Cardigan - Vintage
Jeggins - Primark
Top - Either H&M or Primark
Necklace - Purple Turtle Beads

This is how I wanted to go out today, but social events called for a slightly more formal dress. I don't exactly know what to wear yet, but for one - I want to look nice for a guy, two - I want to look nice for my friends and three - I want to look nice for me!! I reckon that's the most important reason; looking nice so that you feel good. There's often times when I feel a bit under-the-weather and I stick on a nice outfit and instantly feel better. Try it next time you feel a bit... meh. You all know what I mean!!

I will try and post again later tonight or early tomorrow about the day's events and my much more appealing outfit!

Hello, Cupcake!

Whilst browsing through one of my favourite jewellery websites - Ji Ji Kiki - I came across these cutesy, kitsch cupcake earrings that I really want!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
They're only £5, and with my slight cupcake obsession, I think I'd never take them out!

It's just a quick post today, I don't have a lot to talk about recently. I don't know what's wrong, if anything at all, I'm just really tired all the time, and whenever I get to the computer it's just a quick Facebook check then, inevitably, I end up in bed! Very annoying, trust me. But I'm going to try and get back to my regular posting, just for you lot!

I'm going to a party/gathering sort of thing tomorrow, so there will be a lovely outfit post for you... once I've worked out what to wear!!

Interview Day...

I'm sorry I haven't been around much :/ I hate being ill. Anyways, I have to muster the energy for a shower then conquer this flipping interview!! I'll just not have to talk much... oh dear.

Here's what I'm wearing... I think :D

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Sorry this one is blurry - but I'm wearing sky blue Jeggins.

All is from Primark bought in that massive splurge I had a few weeks ago!

Must dash :D

We Say Summer

I'm looking forward to summer - sooo much! Mainly because I can wear fewer clothes and actually look cool and not have to wear a billion layers!!

My Friday night was spent travelling to Walsall to see a few bands with my friend Sam. One such band was staying over at Sam's with me - We Say Summer. There were three other bands on the night - two rather metal-ly bands and one guy who was adorable. I wanted to put him in my pocket and keep him :D

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
They're cool, yet cruel, guys. I say cruel only because they 'Fraped' [Facebook Raped] me quite badly. It was pretty funny though :)

Whenever I listen to them, here, I always think of Panic! At The Disco. But only for a few seconds; We Say Summer are a lot more... in your face :D Recently, I've been listening to a lot of Indie and a lot of Nancy Sinatra [Don't ask why, I don't know either!! I love her though] but these "Pop-Punk/Happy-Hardcore" remind me of the good old days. Just typing that made me feel old, but I did used to listen to a lot more rock/punk music and I'm not sure why I don't anymore - I still like it though!

Anyway, the band is made up of great guys - Jay, Steve, Damien, Steve and Jamie - and even though they're cruel, they're fun. I'm probably going to see them again in April [I think] so I'll wear this -
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
High-Waisted black shorts - H&M
Cardigan - Dotty P
Tights - Primark probably :P
Panda Tee - We Say Summer - One of the Steve's gave Sam and me one each at the end of the night as a present for letting them crash at hers! I told them they can stay at mine next time they're in Birmingham, yeah... I'm clever like that... Damn them for living in Manchester though - summer tour ftw :)

UrbanFreakingOutfitters

Or UFO as I like to call it :D

I just grabbed these from their Facebook from their latest line - the "New In Product" folder. Yum yum yum. Necessity calls right?

Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic
I love the slouchy look to the first top/dress and yet it's still on trend in the Nudes look. It'd be the sort of thing that you could throw on in a rush and still look amazing - I need more like that! Also, the floral dress is a stunner, I'm loving the floaty look of the fabric. I reckon it'd be a great piece for when it's warmer because it's be nice and light.
Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic
The tights. I'm a tights fiend, I love them. This pair I didn't actually like at first, but then I though of what I'd wear them with and fell in love! I really like the Paisley style to the print and I think they'd look beautiful with a plain black playsuit or slimline dress. The white top is wicked also; I'd love to wear it with a really bright bra so that it gives a hint of your body without it actually being visible under the baggy cut of the top. If not that, then with red jewellery to add a hint of colour and maybe black or navy tights.

I tell you one thing - cannot wait for EMA! I might even get a job :) Just thinking of real life gives me chills, but in a good way! x

Everyone's going gaga...

I still can't make up my mind. A lot of the stuff she wears is mental... but that's fashion right? Breaking the boundaries, trying new things - being creative?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I love the lace and the shapes and textures the head thing gives :)

The latex does amazing things for her figure, it smoothes over curves and is just a bit of fun really! And with the lobster one? I just want the shoes :D

More from London [Part 1]

Sorry about the horrendous lack of updates, I had a bit of a weird time, but it was excellent too :D

London, on the whole, was pretty damn good! We went shopping on Wednesday, totally destroyed my mother :)

First stop - Covent Garden

We went and had a quick look in Candy Cakes; I loved the look of the cakes and the window display, but the cakes were a bit too much for my [small] budget! They were so cute though, they looked like they came straight from a cartoon strip!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

After that, I browed through many excellent shops and we came to a small craft-type fair. There was an odd but cool stand selling what I believed were phone charms, but they were quite big!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I wish I bought the Gold Dinosaur, it's so cute! I had intended on going back a little later, but we got distracted by The Primrose Bakery!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

They make the cutest cupcakes, I had a chocolate one and my mum had a lemon flavoured one. Mine was beautifully decorated with a handful of coloured stars [yum!] and mum's had an elegant white flower which we managed to keep safe and is now sitting in my kitchen. They were actually a very reasonable price - two cake and a pot of tea (we had four cups from it) all for just £6.40! I was very impressed.

They tasted so good! At first, I felt really bad about eating it [because it was so pretty], but it was so worth it!

THE Dress :)

It came! I was so gutted it arrived whilst I was in London, I should've got it posted to my brother's address!

Some people have Bad Hair Days, I'm having a Bad Face Day! But here it is -
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Yes, I did use photoshop to 'tidy' my room :D It was very necessary!!

I absolutely love it! It hugs my body, making me look like I have curves (I really don't) and accentuates all the good bits - legs and chest!

Proof this dress was an excellent find? Male catwalk models hitting on me at a wedding fayre :')

MUCH more to come :)

Tuesday

I would just like start of by letting you know that my typing this is a great sacrifice. My brother's house is sooooooooooooooooo cold. I'm typing one-handed at the moment because I'm wrapped up in a duvet... That is a duvet without a cover... ahhh student life :')

Yesterday, Tuesday, was spent on a coach for nearly 3 hours, but it was worth it! It just meant extra money to spend on clothes :)
After we met up with my brother we went straight to the Haagen Dazs cafe for sorbet/ice-cream. My mum had the most luxurious chocolate selection called 'Chocoholic.' "It was magnificent!"

My brother had three scoops of raspberry and summer berries smoothie, chocolate cookie something and summerberry. My brother, ever the glutton, ate it really quickly and spent the rest of the evening pining over mum's chocoholic. It was excellent teasing him :D

Mine was very simple - raspberry and summerberries smoothie and Lemon sorbet. I don't know why I always get the lemon because I'm always disapointed with how sharp it is. The berry one was nice, it tasted like yoghurt :)

However, every time I go there I'm always fascinated by this awesome chain-link 'wall' between the door and the cafe. It looks like moving water, all swishing and wavy.

The journey back to my brother's was ok... bearing in mind it was flooding in the roads and to cross at a set of traffic lights I had to jump over a meter of puddle... splosh.

Consolation prize...? My brother has an attractive flat-mate :)

Pancake day :D

YUM :D

I'm going later today, so I have a few quick updates

1. Yes I made a sodding twitter account (I hate you Olivia) it is here
- I'd love to follow you, either on blogger or on twitter so tell me and I will :D

2. I'm going on a coach. Ew. I have no idea how long it's going to take, but ohmigosh, boredom will strike.

3. I dyed my hair purple, you can't really tell because it was darkish brown before, but in the light it looks awesome :D

I think that is all, however, it IS me so I've probably forgotten LOADS!

Je vais à Londres...

OR I'm going to london...

From monday to thursday/friday possibly. Yay!

I've been planning lots of place to visit including-

The Hummingbird Bakery
The V&A
The Haagen Dazs Cafe
The Anthropologie shop xD

I'm so excited, there will be lots of photos and pretty new clothes, jewellery and possibly a mug :D
I saw one in the Anthropologie shop that I really want :D

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It's only £3.99, which you could pay at Paperchase anyway (not that I don't love Paperchase because I really do!!)

So for the next week, posting will be erratic, but I will try to keep up :D

And, because it's London, there should be lots of cool outfits posts for the next few days!!

Wish me luck!

Abi x

PS. My dress is going to turn up whilst I'm away... bad times :/

PPS. Happy Valentines! Once again, I'm all alone with nought but Tea and freshly baked Madeira cake... life's not so bad :D

Loving...

I didn't like it at first, but you know when a song grows on you? The video is this really cool 'stereotypical' american theme. Lots of blue and white 'tickertape' [or confetti!]

The McQueen Dream...

I was shocked when my sister told me he'd killed himself. I love a lot of his work and I think he's a brilliant and influential designer in our time.

Here are a few articles about him and his work -

"British fashion designer Alexander McQueen found dead at home"
The 40-year-old was found hanged at his flat in Green Street, Mayfair, shortly after 10am today. Paramedics were called but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"British fashion icon Alexander McQueen commits suicide days after death of his beloved mother"
His mother had interviewed him for a newspaper in 2004 and asked him: 'What is your most terrifying fear?', to which he replied: 'Dying before you.' She said: 'Thank you, son.'

Lastly, this is possibly my favourite McQueen dress. Possibly one of my favourite dresses at all really, he was such a ledge :)

And btw...

I just bought the dress :D

We only paid super cheap postage though, so it'll be within a week... ish :D

Wednesday, February 10

Is it only wednesday?

I'm so tired, I NEED this holiday!!

I'm more looking forward to the summer though - water fights, shades, drinks, friends, music, picnics, parks, bikinis, shorts and everything else that makes me happy :)

Last year I found the perfect bikini - Blue with white polka dots and red/pinky bows - but this year I can't seem to find one I like yet. I don't actually want a new one, I like this one, but then I did see this gem from Topshop.com -

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It's £25 which is ok I suppose, but I'm probably not going to go anywhere! I think it cost me £7.50 last time!! However, I love the print and the ties at the sides of the bottoms.

I have to set myself some goals over summer too -

*I want to learn to draw like this -

I found it on a Facebook group and I had to save it, it's pretty and it totally relates to me.

*I want to save up some maybe, maybe get a part-time job or something to keep me occupied.

*I want to make some of my own cloths, experiment y'know?

*Draw up a sketchbook for fun, not for coursework!!

So tell me, what are your goals for the summer? :D
